About the author

Diane W. Reynolds is a lifelong educator, counselor, author, and proud South Carolinian. A graduate of Columbia College, she earned her B.A. degree cum laude in Psychology and History, and was recognized for her academic achievement by being inducted into The Order of the Purple Seal. She later earned a master’s degree in Counseling from the University of South Carolina, beginning a distinguished career devoted to education, children, and family well-being.

In 1987, Diane authored Stuff to Do in Greenville, a creative and family-centered guide that highlighted wholesome, educational adventures for local families. The book quickly became a community favorite, not only serving as a source of inspiration for parents, but also as a recruiting tool for local businesses looking to welcome newcomers to Greenville. Its emphasis on quality time, local treasures, and community involvement resonated with readers and remains fondly remembered by many to this day.

Throughout her career in education, Diane served in a variety of meaningful roles, including as a counselor at Greenville Technical College, and later as a teacher and counselor at both Shriners Hospital for Children and at Children’s Hospital in Greenville. Her compassion, insight, and unwavering commitment to students and families earned her repeated honors, including multiple Teacher of the Year and Caregiver of the Year awards. Diane is also a graduate of Leadership Greenville, and served as a member of the Greenville County Leadership Teachers Forum, engaging with other leaders to shape the future of education in the region.

Beyond her professional achievements, Diane remains actively involved in civic and professional organizations and has long been an advocate for the arts, community service, and children's literacy. Her most recent work is SPUD, a heartfelt children’s story about a little girl and a lovable lop-eared bunny—written with the same spirit of wonder and connection that inspired her earlier work.

Diane lives in Greenville, SC, with her husband, Jim. Together, they cherish time with their family, which includes their daughter, a devoted son-in-law, and twin grandsons who keep their lives full of joy and adventure.
